Graton: Located in West Sonoma County, or "The West County" as its referred to by the locals, once the home and center for Gravenstein apple processing, Graton has developed into a fun destination spot for restaurant goers, antique buyers and gallery shoppers. Graton, in the heart of the Green Valley Appellation and just touching on the Rusian River Appelliation is located only minutes to some of the best Sonoma County wineries. Visitors to the area enjoy wine tasting, golf, site seeing in the redwoods or a drive along the russian river or Sonoma County Coast. Forestville: A small unincorporated village next to the Russian River and not nameed for its extensive forests but for Mr. A.J. Forrester who owned a saloon. It's a great place to live and to enjoy great weather and great wines. Occidental: A small village sandwiched between the city of Sebastopol and the Pacific ocean, at one time a stop on the North Pacific Coast Railroad and still today a picturesque village with family-style Italian restaurants and shops. Sebastopol: Named for a seaport town in Russia, Sevastopol. The Gravenstein apple has long been the largest industry in the area. Sebastopol is largely agricultural with many small farms growing organic crops, Christmas trees, pumpkins and other specialty crops. Sebastopol has top notch schools, a slow pace and has a friendly small town atmosphere. | | | | Healdsburg, Sign Pointing to Some of the Wineries

The Russian River: winds its way from Mendocino County into Sonoma County passing through Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, Windsor, Rio Nido, Guerneville, Monte Rio and flows into the Pacific Ocean at Jenner by the Sea. Historically cabins were built along the river for summer and vacation homes. Now many of these cabins have been turned into year around homes. The seasonal communities have now become viable towns. The Russian River is a terrific destination for recreation and water sports. | | | | Coastal Sonoma: photo taken just north of Jenner with the Pacific Ocean on the right and the mouth of the Russian River to the left.
